Guam War Claims Program Authorized by Congress

On December 8, 2016 the National Defense Authorization Act of 2017 passed in both the House and the Senate. The enactment of the legislation includes the creation of a Guam War Claims Program. 

PobleteTamargo, LLP provided advice to a bipartisan team of Guam and Congressional leaders during the process. Though many details will be developed in the coming months by the Foreign Claims Settlement Commission at the Department of Justice, the basic outline of the Program and further information is provided in the press release below.
