On Friday, July 15, 2011, the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) published a much anticipated set of proposed revisions to the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

This is part of the Obama Administration's effort started in August 2009 to conduct a broad-based review of the U.S. trade security system.

The public has until Tuesday, September 13, 2011, to submit comments on the proposed EAR revisions. For more information, you can download the Federal Register notice here
